About

Hello!

My name is Isla, this is my blog, it’s a space for me, my interests, my experiments and my rambles. It started as a food blog, see below, called What Isla Ate… but after some lengthy inactivity I decided to reactivate this little old site with a new name and a new outlook. We’ll see how it turns out…

I also happen to be an ESOL teacher and have a site for English language learners here.  I hope to also eventually get started on a reflective teaching blog at some point, I’ll get there in the end but if you’ve stumbled upon me because I’ve liked or commented on your teaching blog there is reason to this madness!

That was then:
Me?! Well, I had been looking for an outlet for my writing for ages and after many a failed attempt at moaning and dreaming I have created the ultimate relaxation therapy for me which is writing about food. I don’t claim to write about anything groundbreaking just what I eat, make and like….

Oh and by the way, I’m a self diagnosed coeliac ( I know I  really must go to the doctor) but that means that most of the recipes are gluten free.

  1. Hello Ms Flood,

I’ve just spent the last half hour or so going through your blog. I just love it. I know I have written this before so forgive any sycophancy! I don’t mean to but I wanted to let you know that I love reading about what you eat and it inspires me to *think* about making something more than the dull stuff I eat all the time. Granted I haven’t actually *done* anything about it yet but the thoughts there! Megan is a lucky girl to be eating as wide a choice as what you’re making.

Hope the three of you are all well and that we’ll see each other soon

    xx
